Some time ago Leigh and Chris went to Vegas and were just blown away by the water show at the Bellagio which was to Andrea Bocelli's "Time to say Goodbye". It made such an impression on them that the song was one of the songs we played during Leigh's Memorial Service last August.
In loving memory of Leigh I am dancing a lyrical solo to that song in our dance recital this Saturday. It's a small tribute to her memory, but one I hope the whole audience will connect with. The recital also happens to be on what would have been Leigh's 35th birthday. The program will reflect this, and I'm curious to see how many people actually make the connection when they read below the performance title:
In loving memory of Leigh Peck 6/16/72 - 8/26/06
The time is quickly approaching, and I hope I an ready to truly perform for her.
I just wanted to share that with everyone.
Chloe:
You ARE ready to perform for Leigh. You have been since the day she died. You just don't know that yet.
It's been an honor to witness your journey with Leigh when she was a part of "our" world. And in watching you step into and create your special support system for Leigh as she spent her last time on this earth, I know she felt your love and strength and this somehow made her letting go - when she was ready....okay.
You somehow coped with losing her as your beloved friend, yet at the same time you were her strength, her reality, her reason for continuing to hang on for just another day....another moment....another memory.
And now, to have created this special time on her birthday -- in honor of Leigh -- to dance for her....she will know that. You will know that. You will FEEL that.
I had no idea of the significance of this dance, for you and for her. Now that I know, I am going to re-arrange my schedule so I can witness this and be a part of this energy for Leigh and for you. For letting go and saying good-bye.
Thank you for sharing. Thank you for being who you are. You do make a difference in this world.
Blessings to you......Benecia
